Litigation Support Services

As CLVS's (Certified Legal Video Specialists), we can provide you with complete litigation support from the deposition room to the courtroom. Whether you prefer your video footage delivered on VHS, SVHS, CD,  or DVDs, "We've got you covered!"  We also provide video synchronized to the transcript in multiple formats to enhance your trial presentation.

Depositions

We want to become a key member of your litigating team when it comes to preparing and/or presenting visual evidence in the courtroom, and most often, this process begins with the deposition. At Riverside Media, Inc. all of our videographers are CLVS’s (Certified Legal Video Specialists) or CLVS trained, and use the latest in broadcast quality equipment to produce high quality footage. Your depositions can be delivered on VHS tape, CD’s or DVD’s and can be standalone or synchronized with the transcript.

If you need a conference room for your deposition, consider using ours. Riverside Media, Inc. is conveniently located 15 minutes from downtown Houston, just west of the Galleria area, See Map. We offer free covered parking, a speakerphone, internet access, great coffee and many other amenities!

Videos Synchronized with Transcripts

The benefits of this technology make this a very powerful tool.  Studies have shown that juries retain more information when they are able to read written testimony and hear the video simultaneously. In addition, the technology gives you the ability to have all your video deposition testimony available to you in trial. We can quickly retrieve portions of key deposition testimony  (or edit on the fly), which greatly enhances the effectiveness of trial presentation.

 Day-in-Life Documentaries

When used as an illustrator of fact, the "day-in-the-life" video is the most effective and efficient way to demonstrate the severity of a major injury. It's the next best thing to bringing the jury to the home of the plaintiff for a day. This type of video is not meant to be an actual representation of a day in the life of the injured. It's purpose is to show how the injury has changed the person's daily routines.   Day-in-the-life videos have become an instrumental tool in helping our clients prevail in mediations or at trial.

Settlement Videos

A settlement video is a condensed preview of your case. Because it's not intended to be seen in court (it's typical audience is insurance adjusters, mediators and attorneys), dramatic presentation is not limited as it is in a "day-in-the-life" documentary. Although some of the subject matter may be the same, a settlement documentary is intended to show the strength of the plaintiff's case. The creative elements are unrestricted in showing both liability and damages. A settlement documentary can  enhance your case, or help to avoid a trial altogether.

Mock Trials / Witness Prep

A mock trial, or witness preparation session, can be a valuable tool in preparing for trial.  Riverside Media  brings over 20 years of production experience to assist you. We have set up complete courtrooms in hotels, with  4 cameras and a 9-man production team,  to simultaneously present evidence to three 12-member jury panels, both in Texas and out of state. If your needs are less extensive, we can provide a single camera and playback monitor to help you prepare your client or expert witness to deliver their sworn testimony in the most persuasive manner.

Digital Editing

Riverside Media uses the latest in digital technology to edit your projects. With three non-linear (digital) editing bays, two analog bays, multiple editors and a 24-hour accessible facilty, we can respond quickly to your needs, and provide the quick turnaround that trial-time editing frequently calls for.

Electronic Trial Presentation

A powerful presentation of facts can be critically important at trial. Winning the case by effectively communicating your position is the goal. We can help you do that by working closely with your legal team to build a presentation that communicates your position to the jury in an organized and visually stimulating manner. We provide pre-trial consultation, equipment selection, equipment delivery, set-up and testing, operation of the equipment during trial, and breakdown and pickup at trial end. Equipment we provide includes  a document camera (Elmo), VCRs, monitors, LCD or DLP projectors (for front or rear projection), screens, laptops for video playback, a complete sound system, DVD players, light pens, etc. Additionally, we can acquire and integrate into our system any unusual or specialized equipment your needs may call for.

Surveillance

Using small form factor cameras with low light sensitivity, we can capture that rare footage that can sometimes make or break a case.

Stills from Video

Visual imagery passes quickly; it may be more effective to capture and enlarge a still print for presentation to the judge or jury. Video runs at 30 frames per second. Riverside Media can take a single frame and pinpoint an element to within a fraction of a second.

Evidence Videos/ Photos

Video and photos have become integral parts of our trial system, and allow the presentation of everything from depositions to accident reconstructions.  Video is considered photography under the law of evidence.  Regardless of the medium, our expertise in this field helps any lawyer do what he does best... practice law.  We will use the best techniques to recreate the scene as accurately as possible for a jury.

Video Inspections

Video inspections make it easy to bring complex visual evidence into the courtroom. We have shot footage in chemical plants, on ships, videotaped medical examinations, construction equipment, excavation sites, train locomotives, engine tests, automobile, home and office inspections, physical therapy sessions, video wills, etc.
